Autumn is a season of letting go. Release is not loss; it is renewal. My intention this autumn is harvesting habits that will guide me through winter, so that I can blossom in spring. Letting things go that no longer serve me and growing with grace is my goal this season.
Autumn is dark and moody, so I feel right at home this time of year. It’s a time to reap what you sow. Some years bring a bountiful harvest, while others teach you to make do with less. Some years, our built-up routines see us gracefully through the season; others serve as a reminder to release what no longer works and forge a better path.
I look forward to autumn each year because I enjoy a change I can anticipate. Though changing of the seasons is out of my control, it’s always in God’s hands. And so, as each autumn arrives, I am grateful for another opportunity to embrace and enjoy it. This year, I especially intend to slow down and experience all it has to offer.
Every crunchy leaf beneath my feet.
Every bumpy pumpkin along my path.
Every bite of a caramel apple treat.
Every sip of hot coffee on cool mornings.
Every golden sunset behind bare branches.
Every page read on a rainy day.
Every bite of my favorite autumn meals.
Every sweet note of warm cinnamon and vanilla.
Every cozy cuddle under a chunky blanket.
Every fleeting second of the turning year.
What are you looking forward to this autumn? What are you releasing this year so that you can continue to grow and thrive this season? Let me know in the comments!
Happy Blogtober, dear Reader!
