Currently... June

We are officially halfway through 2026, and I honestly can’t wrap my head around it. It feels like Christmas was just yesterday. Yet here we are standing on the edge of summer’s best days. It’s wild to think that Blogust, Blogtober, and Blogmas are already glimmering on the horizon. With the year moving at warp speed, I’m leaning hard into the features that keep me grounded. One of my absolute favorites has always been my monthly "Currently" post. Back when this space was called Currently Kendra, I made sure a month never went by without a real, journal-style update. So here I am, channeling that same intentional energy, making sure I don't miss another opportunity to slow down, check in, and share all of my current favorites with you!

At the beginning of summer break I sat down to update my playlist with upbeat songs to keep me motivated and dancing through the season. I've been keeping a few tracks on repeat, specifically Becky G's EPA and Shakira's Dai Dai! Keep your eyes peeled, because my full Summer Soundtrack playlist post is coming your way this Friday, 6/19!

My comfort show this time of year, since Elora was born 6 years ago, is Sweet Magnolias. I remember turning on an episode of the first season to get me through those late-night nursing sessions with her. Another favorite for the time-travel element is Hallmark's The Way Home. I love getting lost in a good storyline, especially ones that take you back to the 90s and 1800s!

My prayers have been all over the place lately. Mainly, I'm praying for clarity and guidance about future decisions. It's all unknown to me, but God has already paved a way and I'm waiting to be directed down the path He is choosing for me and my kids. I'm feeling hopeful once I pray all my worries away.

In the meantime, I'm anticipating a little beach escape. Usually I hate leaving home, but for some reason this year I can't wait to get away for a bit. I'm missing summers past when I used to spend a week with my favorite cousin, Erica. Although I am loving sleeping in like I used to. Nothing is better than waking up at noon on a summer day!

In other news, I realized too late that it's been over a year since my last haircut. I'm obsessing over getting my ends trimmed, wanting to schedule a salon appointment. I NEED to see a hairstylist ASAP! Perhaps, my reward for starting my 75 Sparkling Challenge should be a trip to the salon! Until then, if you need me, I'll be sipping my new favorite flavor of Olipop (Raspberry Sherbet) and trying to finish (after two years) Create Anyway by Ashlee Gadd.

As we step into the rest of this beautiful, sun-drenched season, I hope you take a moment to look back on how far you've come since January. Let's make the second half of 2026 exactly what we need it to be: filled with slow mornings, creative spaces, and plenty of everyday magic. I’m off to fill up my water bottle and check off another day of my Sparkling 75 tracker! Until next time, find a little bit of sunshine today, dear Reader.
