Block Your Year | Design Your Year Day 5

KW DYY Week 1 Day 5

Your brain is an incredible factory for generating ideas, but it is a terrible warehouse for storing them. If you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or like you’re constantly "forgetting something," it’s probably because your mental hard drive is 99% full. Before we start building your seasonal dashboards next week, we have to clear the deck. We cannot build a high-performance year on top of a "to-do list" junk drawer. Today, we empty your mind so we can finally see clearly.

Every "I should," "don't forget," and "maybe someday" that is floating in your head is an "open loop." These loops stay open in the background of your consciousness, draining your cognitive battery and causing low-level stress. By writing everything down, from "buy new light bulbs" to "start a podcast," you close those loops. This isn't your final To-Do list. This is just an inventory. Once it’s on paper, your brain can stop using its energy to remember and start using its energy to execute.

In Your Guidebook on Page 17 (or page 16 in the free sample version) use the categorized Brain Dump page. Don't filter yourself. Don't worry if an idea seems "too big." Get it all out. Use the prompts in the guidebook to check your home, your work, your health, and your "someday" dreams. Write until the "noise" in your head goes quiet. If you fill the page, grab a second sheet. The goal is a total mental evacuation.

BONUS | The 10-Minute Reset: Look at your massive list and find one "Two-Minute Win." This is a task that has been nagging at you that you can finish in 120 seconds or less. Do it right now. Send the text. Book the appointment. Notice how much lighter you feel just by closing one tiny loop.

Ready for Week Two, Reader? Next week, we take this "North Star" and this "Brain Dump" and turn them into a 90-day strategy. If you haven't yet, [Sign up here to get the full 68-page Guidebook] so you're ready to launch on Monday!
