Friday 3-2-1 Reflection #3

Friday Reflection KW38 Blogust 2026

Another week of August is drawing to a close. Time feels like it’s creeping along, yet it always takes me by surprise how fast a week can disappear. Lately, I've felt propelled forward while simultaneously taking a few unintentional steps back. I was looking forward to having uninterrupted days at home, but I've realized that sometimes the quiet can be too quiet, making my mind a little too loud.

Pausing to reflect, find the good, and intentionally practice gratitude has been such a welcome retreat from the noise in my head these past few days. Here is what I’m holding onto and celebrating from this week!

3 Glimmers
Carline Curiosity: Elora and I have spent our morning carline waits searching up answers to all her big "why" and "how" questions. So far, we’ve looked up how chalk is made, what causes lightning, and why poison ivy gets its name! I look forward to her endless curiosity every single morning now.

Sweet Baby Gabriel: I finally met my littlest nephew! Visiting my brother and sister-in-law and holding baby Gabriel was so much more than just a glimmer—it was pure magic. I’ll cherish those sweet, chubby cheeks forever.

A Chosen Love: I stumbled across a sweet note my husband wrote me two months before we got married. I still can't believe he chose me all those years ago, and I am blessed beyond words that he continues to choose me every single day.

📷 2 Snapshots
On the Bookshelf: I just finished A Dark and Wild Wood by Sarah Nicole Lemon and am now diving into The Sea Child by Linda Wilgus. Having the time and headspace to get lost in a good story again has been such a treat for my soul!

Taste of Home: I cooked up one of my all-time favorite childhood comfort meals last week: soup beans, sauerkraut with weenies, and cornbread. It wasn't quite like my Momma makes hers, but it hit the spot and warmed my heart!

🎯 1 Intent for the Week Ahead
Classroom Magic: I’m determined to get my classroom completely set up and ready for our upcoming Open House! It’s going to take a lot of sweat equity, but every bit of effort will be worth it to create a clean, cozy, and welcoming space to teach these little hearts and minds for the new school year.

Taking time to pause and count these little blessings always turns my perspective around when the quiet gets a little too loud. I hope you're finding your own sweet glimmers amidst the business of late August!
