Let’s be real: February feels like the 'Wednesday' of the year. I started the month with big plans and a full pot of coffee, but life eventually hit the 'snooze' button for me. Between a sleep schedule that went rogue and motivation that decided to take a sudden vacation, my blog drafts have been chilling on the back burner. Last week, I had every intention of capitalizing on all the "main character" energy, but my body chose 'hibernation mode' instead. After a brief battle with the mid-winter slump, I’ve realized it’s okay to put things on the back burner... as long as you eventually turn the stove back on. Today, we’re doing just that! It wouldn't be a new month without my favorite signature feature, so let’s catch up on life lately and the things I’m looking forward to.

This month I took myself on a solo movie date to see "Dracula: A Love Tale" on the big screen. I probably won't step out of my comfort zone like that again, but I did enjoy the movie and exercising my free will for an afternoon. I hope they release it soon so I can stream it whenever I want!
The "Dracula" soundtrack has also been my current favorite background music, too, but when I need an energy boost Maesic's "Life is Simple (Move Your Body) helps me to get up and get stuff done!
The weather where I live is still icy and snowy, which is apt because I've been feeling frozen in place as of late. I'm so excited for the big thaw that will reveal a bright, beautiful spring! However, I need to go ahead and schedule in some salon days to get myself Spring break ready! I'm already dreaming of all the fun things to get out of the house and do for my second-favorite season of the year!
While I'm housebound, I've started a new Bible study on the book of Ecclesiastes. One of my favorite scripture verses is Ecclesiastes 3:11 " He has made all things beautiful in its time..." although most of the book can feel very "futile" for lack of a better word. It's been an eye-opening study thus far, and I'm looking forward to sharing what I'm learning with you here in the coming weeks!
This month there's a couple of things to look forward to: I get to spend extra time with my little love, Lizzy, and my big kids will be in Frozen: The Musical at the end of the month. Of course, Valentine's Day is coming up, too!
Lastly, I found out the celestial 90s trend is now called “whimsygoth” so that’s going to be my fav aesthetic from here on out! Man, I wish I kept all of my sun and moon stuff from 2001!
Happy February, Reader!
