Flashback Friday (Honeymoon Version) | Blogtober 2025

Flashback Friday | Blogtober 2025 | KW

There's just something about autumn that makes me feel nostalgic! I love looking back at old photos and remembering what life was like in previous seasons. For today's Flashback Friday post, I'm digging deep into those warm memories that bring a smile to my face. Let's travel back to 2015, when Daniel and I finally got our honeymoon!

Six years of marriage, a three-year-old and one-year-old, plus a hardworking Dad and stay-at-home Mom. That was our life in the fall of 2015, and honestly, we were running on fumes. Our original honeymoon never happened, but for our anniversary, my husband pulled off the most magical surprise: a two-night trip to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina.

It wasn't just a trip; it was a total reset.

Stepping onto the grounds felt like entering another world—one without diapers, toddler requests, and minus the dishes and laundry. We embraced the slow pace of a true getaway. We spent hours exploring the gorgeous, golden grounds and taking the fascinating Estate Tour through the main house, imagining what life was like in a place that grand.

We enjoyed quiet, uninterrupted meals at the on-site restaurants and browsed the charming shops at Antler Hill Village, holding hands without having to chase down Zeke or carry Evie. It was the perfect autumn bubble where we could simply reconnect and remember what it was like to be "us" before we became "Mom and Dad."

If you’re a parent, you know those two nights were worth six years of waiting! It was the most beautiful, belated honeymoon we could have ever asked for.

Happy Flashback Friday! Week two of Blogtober is in the books! I'll be back next Monday with more!
