The past few days have been a whirlwind. My planned low-key, restful weekend quickly turned into a bit of a scare and a two-night hospital stay.
Usually, I dedicate my days off to writing, blogging my heart out over the weekend to schedule posts for the entire Blogtober challenge. But this week, everything stopped when my five-year-old daughter came home sick last Wednesday. She slowly deteriorated until she was struggling to breathe and needed oxygen. It was terrifying, especially for her little self, but praise be to God, she was successfully weaned off the oxygen and is now back home! We're finally settling back in.
It feels like it's been a while since I allowed myself to just sit and pour my heart out into a post. Lately, I've been focused on staying on-trend and on-theme, but I always want this space to be honest and unfiltered. That’s why today’s entry is less “curated Autumn content” and more of a raw journal entry. It's actually incredibly refreshing to go back to my roots and simply blog about my daily life and what's actually going on. I’ll continue to update you on how this unexpected season of life is treating us.
Shifting gears: I finally finished the latest Bakeshop Mystery, “Catch Me if You Candy.” I did not see that ending coming, and now I'm excited to hit the library again—not just for my next cozy read, but to pick up new books to read to my preschoolers.
Speaking of work: I am absolutely loving my job as a preschool teacher! Waking up in the morning isn't difficult when I get to work alongside amazing women, children, and families every day. I was hoping for perfect attendance this year, but with the recent hospital excitement, I'm just proud I made it almost two whole months before needing a day off. When I’m not at school, I’m home trying to keep the house in order and carve out time to be creative.
Can you believe it's almost November already? I might be planning to put up the Christmas decorations as early as possible this year and get a head start on Blogmas!
There's nothing like one of life's unexpected twists to make you truly appreciate the things you normally overlook and take for granted. I am so happy that Elora is home and back to her usual self. I’m feeling hopeful and trusting that whatever comes next, God is already there, and He will get me through it.
I can't promise a post for tomorrow, as life has definitely thrown me a curveball, but I fully intend to be back to end Blogtober strong by Friday. Thanks for checking in with me today, Reader. I'll be writing you again very soon!
