Plan with Me | August Goals

August Planner by Kendra Wesley

Summer break is coming to a close and that means two things are happening: our schedules are going to be much more structured & my birthday is coming up! Yes, I still get excited about my birthday. I like to celebrate every milestone I can! Going into a new month feels like I'm getting a fresh start. Although my first week of august was spent soaking in the last of our lazy season, I’m ready to implement a productive routine to help me get the most out of each day.

My planner this year is the Nature Classic Wellness Happy Planner. I’m a sucker for a vertical layout and this one has guided sections to help you focus on your body, mind, and soul. This week I'm using the intention boxes to focus on what I want to accomplish each day. In the Nourish section, I'll not only focus on what I'm cooking for dinner, but other activities and habits that will feed my soul. The movement section is pretty obvious - I want to move and strengthen my body every day. Although I'm not following a specific plan, I do know I want to walk daily and focus on moves to help me with my posture. Lastly, I'm using the Take Note section for reminders, appointments, and whatever else that I feel deserves a permanent spot on my timeline.

Since I've been feeling so overwhelmed lately, I wanted to be able to completely write out each day to better align myself with my goals. In addition, I've created a habit tracker to help me keep my focus. I'm tracking things to make sure I unplug at a decent hour, sleep long enough, and prioritize better, while learning to give myself grace along the way.

This month I'm also reading through the books of Romans and 1 & 2 Peter. I thought it would be best to focus on reading through scripture to help me get back into my early morning Bible study routine. I'm also listening to the Living Proof with Beth Moore podcast series on Romans, too. I completed the Introductory session and read chapter one this morning and already feel like I've learned a lot!
My plans are written in pencil;
God's plans are written in stone.
I'm moving into the second week of August with motivation and determination to keep showing up for myself in hopes that I can better show up for my family and beyond. One thing I've learned (and lived through) this past year is that time waits for no one. And today is more than a gift; it's an opportunity to bless and be blessed.
