14 + Infinity

14 + Infinity | Kendra Wesley

It was raining that evening at the marching band competition. As Color Guard captain, I was walking out on the field for the award ceremony. The drum major had an umbrella in one hand and grabbed my hand with his other as we ran to our spot on the field. I didn’t let go until he looked down at me and said, “you can stop holding my hand now.” Embarrassed, I tried to laugh it off. I really didn’t want to stop holding his hand.

It’s crazy how things work out. That boy is now a man and he is the one who always wants to hold my hand now.

I’m glad he changed his mind. It was the best decision he ever made, in my honest opinion.

I’m so beyond blessed to call him my husband and the father of my children.

These last 14 years have gone by in the blink of an eye, but I wouldn’t want to do life with anyone else.

Here’s to 14 more years plus infinity!
